Get Renewed During This Recession

During this recession there just seems to be a black cloud lingering over all our heads with uncertainty of our future for all future generations. I wanted to share this experience I had this week when I visited Greenfield Village, Detroit, MI. I have visited Greenfield Village in the past but, didn't get the same impact as I did this time. Just walking thru the gates I had a peaceful feeling come over me, the atmosphere was like a warm blanket. While visiting Thomas Edison's Laboratory, I just was in awe and couldn't help thinking how far we have come. After visiting several of the historic districts within Greenfield Village especially the Working Farms, the lingering black cloud disappeared. I was witnessing our nations agricultural revolution minus all the modern conviences and how America truly did live off the land. This gave me a feeling of hope and strength to face my future. I know some experts say not to look back, just keep going forward but I believe now is the time every American should look back and realize just how simple life could be. |

I worked for a little while in one of the original Edison buildings at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. It was amazing to ponder at all the newer buildings and see how a simple idea had flourished.
